What is your availability?
My typical availability is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

What should I expect in my first session?
The first session will focus on what brought you into therapy and what you hope to get out of the process. This will also be a great time for you to ask any initial questions that you have about therapy.
During our 50 minutes together, I will ask questions about the current challenges you are facing, as well as gather some information about your history, daily routines, and relationships. The first session also serves as an opportunity for me to begin learning about your values and important aspects of your identity. In light of this information, we will work together to identify important areas of focus for your care.

What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a structured trauma-informed approach to therapy. EMDR creates space for you to process past experiences while using bilateral stimulation (BLS). BLS helps your brain activate what it needs in order to process information in a healthy way.
BLS may include back-and-forth eye movements or holding sensors that alternate a “buzzing” sensation from one hand to the other. You can decide what feels most comfortable for you.

What are your session fees? Do you take insurance?
Protea Grace Psychology charges $200 for intake appointments and ongoing therapy appointments, which will be charged at the time of service. Payment can be made via cash, check, or credit/debt card. The standard meeting time for a therapy session is 50 minutes.
Protea Grace does not directly bill through insurance. A superbill can be provided upon request. Superbills can be submitted for reimbursement from your insurance provider. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed and often requires a mental health diagnosis.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth services?
I am able to provide both in-person and telehealth services for adults in Arizona.
During our initial consultation, we can discuss what is better suited for you in this season. Sometimes in-person services are a better fit depending on your current circumstances and goals for therapy.
